Senior International Tax Associate
CHI Border Inc. is hiring an organized tax professional to manage complex individual tax returns and client operations in downtown Chicago. CHI Border is a tax consulting firm that speciailizes US international individual tax rules and regulations. Your Role at CHI Border
Expert Tax Review
Review complex individual income tax returns and international information reporting forms. Ensure accuracy and compliance for expatriates, green card holders, and foreign investors.
Project & Workflow Management
Manage client deliverables, track deadlines, and coordinate with interns and administrative staff to ensure timely project completion.
International Tax Knowledge
Apply your experience with cross-border tax matters, FBAR, FATCA, PFIC, CFC and expatriation tax to deliver high-quality client service and compliance.
Operational Efficiency
Build and improve internal processes, quality control systems, and operational efficiency to help scale our growing international practice. Use AI-driven automation as much as possible.
Help International Clients Navigate U.S. Tax Compliance
As a Senior International Tax Associate at CHI Border Inc., you'll review complex tax returns for expatriates, green card holders, and foreign investors facing U.S. reporting requirements.

Build Systems That Scale International Tax Operations
As a Senior International Tax Associate or Tax Manager at CHI Border Inc., you'll review tax returns or forms already prepared by our professional staff or our outsourced resources. You focus on reviewing interenational aspects of returns for expatriates, green card holders, and foreign investors. You will gain experience that is not easily obtainable at other firms.

What experience is required for this role?
We're looking for someone with experience reviewing individual income tax returns, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple client engagements. International tax experience is a strong plus but not mandatory. A CPA, EA, attorney designation, or advanced tax background is preferred. Most importantly, we want someone detail-oriented who thrives in a growing, entrepreneurial environment.
Is prior international tax knowledge mandatory?
We provide guidance and training on our specific practice areas, including expatriation tax, FBAR, FATCA, and streamlined filing procedures. However, if you have prior experience with cross-border tax matters or international information reporting, that will help you ramp up faster and adds significant value to your candidacy.
What are the work hours and office location?
This is a full-time, in-office or hybrid position located in downtown Chicago, IL. We value in-person collaboration and believe it strengthens team communication and client service quality. Standard business hours apply, with flexibility during peak tax season. You'll work closely with interns, administrative staff, and senior advisors to manage client deliverables and operational workflows.
